Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B., the eleventh Archabbot of Saint Vincent Archabbey, was re-elected as the major superior of the Benedictine community in Latrobe Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 11.
FineLine Multimedia was there at Saint Vincent to capture the official photograph of the benedictine community immediately following the election process.
The photograph was taken around 8PM inside the Saint Vincent basilica after the sun had set.
Two wireless strobe-lights were setup as the primary light source, activated by the 580 EXII flash unit on our Canon 7D. Additionally, we used two 500 watt tungsten lights + two 750 watt tungsten flood lights.
With all that wonderful light, we were able to pull off an aperture of approximately 8.0. This helped to get as much of the community in focus as possible.
After the group photo, we quickly relocated the equipment and setup for a nice portrait shot.Everything was moving smoothly and the lighting hit the black tungsten wedding bands perfectly. Check out the picture to the left to see a sample from that shoot.
