COMMON GENERAL WEDDING SERVICE QUESTIONS
How do we reserve FineLine Weddings for our day?
In order to officially reserve your day, you will need to send in a signed contract along with a minimum deposit of $300 ($600 if booking videography AND photography together). After we receive the contract and deposit, we will send you a copy of the signed contract along with confirmation information and your wedding day planning form.
How long have you been doing weddings?
Since 2003
Do we need to meet before booking or before the wedding?
This is completley up to you. We have found that more and more of our couples have been comfortable with discussing our services via email or phone in order to determine whether FineLine will be the right fit for their day, but we are also available for consultations at our office. Before the wedding we contact all our couples over the phone the week prior to the wedding to finalize and confirm all the important details of the day.
What happens if my photographer or videographer gets sick?
One of the best attributes of FineLine Weddings is our size. We're not a large booking agency that books up a lot of weddings and then scrambles to assign vendors, but we're also not just one indivdiual. We always use the example of what would happen if you book "Photography by Joe" and something happens to Joe? When you book with FineLine we discuss which of our lead photographers and videographers are still available and who will be doing your wedding. However, we have a team of reserve shooters who are able to step-in if something should happen. This is very unlikely but we would never want your day to be 100% dependent upon one person.
Do you bring backup equipment?
Absolutely. We bring plenty of camera bodies, lenses, and flash units for our photography shoots and every video package comes with 1 additional backup camera.
COMMON PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS
What is your style of photography?
Contemporary, candid style photography.
We already have a videographer, can we still book FineLine for photography?
Absolutely. Though we find that our best results come when our whole team is working together to capture the day, we are here to assist you in whichever role you need us to fulfill. We get along extremely well with other vendors and enjoy meeting other professionals in our field.
What type of equipment do you use?
We use Canon brand bodies and Canon L series lenses. 5D Mark II and Canon 7D
Do we get the copyrights to our photos?
Yes, regardless of the package you choose.
Will our photos be available online for friends and family to view?
If you add the photo gallery option to our base package or choose our standard package which includes the photo gallery. Your family members and freinds will also be able to purchase prints through this gallery.
Do you offer rehearsal dinner, dress fitting, engagement shoots, or other session shoots?
Yes. Sessions are $295 (includes up to 90 minutes at location within 15 miles of our office location in Greensburg, PA. Additional $75 for further travel up to 1 hour away).
How long will it take to see our photos after the wedding?
By contract we guarantee you will have everything within 8 weeks maximum after your wedding date, however this is a very large window and we typically have things done in 2-3 weeks. Often your gallery will be up before we are 100% done so most couples are able to see their photos within 1-2 weeks.
COMMON VIDEOGRAPHY QUESTIONS
What is your style of videography?
Candid but artistic. We go beyond simply documenting what is occuring but we also do not want to be 'in your face.' Inexperienced videographers can make you and your guests uncomfortable very quickly. Our #1 compliment from all our brides is that they completely forgot we were even there and have no idea how we got the amazing shots we did.

Does 'Full Reception' mean you stay until the very last song?
Our definition of 'Full Reception' coverage does not necessarily mean a guarantee until the last song, although our 'Bride's Dream Package' does include this guarantee. Full coverage guarantees that we will be there to cover all the major events. After the last major event we like to get the bride and groom and find a romantic spot to do a few more ending shots for the video. After doing this ending shot we then head back to the dance floor for another 20 minutes or so (we do this because at a lot of receptions the music often shifts towards the younger crowd after the events or because some guests wait to dance until after all the events).
A typical example would be a reception that goes until 11PM. Perhaps the last event wraps up at 10:00pm. In this case we would probably wrap up our ending shots and a few more songs of dancing by 10:30. Before we leave we make it a point to check with the couple to see if there's anything else special that may be going on that we may have been unaware of just to be sure.
Some of your packages include High-Definition Production. Does this mean we will get Blu-Ray DVDs?
No. High-definition production is a video add-on that you can add to any package (or it is included with our Diamond and Bride's Dream Package). This means that your day will be shot in 1080 high definition but the final product will still be delivered on standard definition DVDs. The final quality of the video is a little higher because the original source was shot in high definition.
The quality of our cameras are top of the line and we have never once had any be disappointed with getting a standard definition wedding video and watching it on their HD television. However, we know that some people would like to get the most quality possible. Your first option is adding high definition production to your package. Your second option having HD Blu-Ray DVDs as your final product.
What type of equipment do you use?
We use top of the line Canon brand cameras (Canon XHA1 and Canon XL2). Both cameras have the longest possible zoom lens at 20x optical zoom along with Canon's world-class L-Flourite lenses which give us better image quality than most videographers. We also use only the top of the line Sennheiser wireless mics for our audio recording.
How many DVDs will we get?
The number of DVDs depends on your package although additional DVDs can be purchased at $15 or $20 depending on the desired packaging. If ordered after receiving the original DVDs shipping charges will apply if you need us to ship your extra DVDs.
Will our video be available online for friends and family to view?
We cannot put your entire wedding DVD online (our average wedding DVDs include 90-120 minutes of content) although we always like to put our couples' Highlight of the Day video online so they can share this wonderful piece with family and friends. We will also put certain moments online at request.
How long will it take to see our video after the wedding?
Our guarantee is that everything will be ready for you 8 weeks after the wedding although we typically average 2-3 weeks for post-production.
