Alé & Shane’s Saint Vincent College Engagement Session We had a great time at Alé and Shane’s recent Saint Vincent College Engagement Session. This shoot was especially nice for our owner, Fred, because Alé is one of his former students. Alé and Shane are both Saint Vincent College graduates, just like most of the FineLine team. We love having the opportunity to work with our fellow alumni. Because of the significance of Saint Vincent College to the couple, heading to campus was a great idea. After this evening’s engagement session with Stephanie and Tim I’m pretty pumped about the wedding next year. Both of them kept me laughing all evening and had no complaints about doing anything I asked them to do… even when that meant asking Tim to pick up Stephanie and carry her through 25 yards of tall brush and jaggers just to get one shot. Both of them graduated from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA (as did I and 99% of the FineLine Weddings staff and former interns), so heading to campus was a great idea. FineLine Weddings has a very close relationship with the Saint Vincent college, parish, and monastic community. Four members of the FineLine Weddings team graduated from Saint Vincent College and owner Fred Findley still teaches photo and video there part-time. We’ve shot dozens and dozens of weddings and events there throughout the years, so when Jonelle and Sam first inquired about our services for their Saint Vincent wedding we were thrilled and obviously very excited when they decided to go with us. History of Saint Vincent Basilica and Parish Founded in 1790, Saint Vincent Parish was the first Catholic parish in Pennsylvania west of the Allegheny Mountains. Father Theodore Brouwers, O.F.M., purchased 300 acres of land called “Sportsman’s Hall Tract” and thus founded Sportsman’s Hall Parish, the early name for Saint Vincent Parish. In 1846, Benedictine Father Boniface Wimmer arrived at Saint Vincent and founded the first Benedictine monastery in the United States.
