Top Questions To Ask A Wedding Planner:
Our wedding planner responses:
Here is what our expert wedding planner Brenda said from Wedding Wishes:
There are many questions to ask a wedding planner but the top questions would be something more than how long have they been doing weddings and do they have a certification.
A few of these questions could be:
- What is the biggest size wedding you’ve done?
- How do you handle family issues that arise?
- How do you assist in the way of decorating and removing decorations?
- What special things do you offer to help make family and friends feel like special guests?
- How do you help a bride and groom manage their budget?
- And most importantly: Please give me your reference list on our first meeting.
- With these atypical questions, a good wedding planner will breeze right through them with intelligent answers. It will also be reassuring to you to know they have dealt with various situations and aren’t earning your business just because they can get you discounts. Although, discounts are a really good thing! Happy Wedding Planning!

- Does your price include unlimited calls and appointments or does it include a set amount?
- Do you give a selection of vendors you recommend or do we have to use the one you work with best?
- What happens if there is an emergency the day-of my wedding? Will you have enough assistants working that you could leave the site and tend to my situation?
- What are the most important things to do first?
- How can I save money?

- How many weddings do you take on per day/weekend?
- Can you provide references?
- Will you be present at my wedding rehearsal?
- How many hours will you be present for on the day of my wedding?

Here is what our expert wedding planner Erin Calvimontes said from Divine Celebrations:
- Is planning your full time job or a part time job (this will determine if the planner will be available when the bride needs her and able to contact vendors during daylight hours)
- Are you a certified planner and/ or belong to any reputable organizations- (this will tell the bride the planner is better informed with trends and is connected to a network of contacts just for her)
- How long have you been planning weddings- (everyone must start somewhere but having a newbie plan the most important day of your life could pose a few challenges)
