Our Style and approach
Brides will often ask us, "What is your 'style' of wedding photography and video?" Truthfully, we love answering this question!
1. MODERN...
FineLine Weddings began serving couples in 2003 so our style is more modern than some of our competitors who have been in the field for much longer. We like to point to three modern influences that continue to impact modern wedding production.
Growth of the Wedding Industry - Over the past decade bridal shows, bridal magazines, reality television shows, and the explosion of informatiive and helpful wedding industry websites and blogs have really developed a whole new wedding industry. It is now easier than ever to find skilled wedding professionals and a greater variety of custom ideas to make your day truly unique. We have enjoyed working hard to be at the forefront of these new innovations and styles. We know that there are so many new ideas and no two of our brides are alike. Constantly being aware of the latest trends is certainly one small aspect of our style.
Rapidly Evolving Equipment - The technology we can use in the field and in post-production has never been better. Have you ever heard the saying, "You've got to know the rules before you can break the rules?" Having the latest gear and software has been making it easier and easier for us to break the rules and come away with some amazingly creative results. The visions we develop in our minds during your wedding day continue to expand because the boundaries of capabilities continue to grow. Every winter we spend our week days experimenting with new 'toys' and ideas in order to bring a whole new level of creativity to the following season.
The Ability to Share the Final Results - Now more than ever our couples are enjoying the ability to immediatley share our work with friends and family through email or outlets like Facebook. This has been great for our industry because our couples are seeing more and more work by other vendors and the result is a greater demand for artistry and creativity. With everyone capable or showing off their wedding photos we've noticed our couples wanting to make their own mark with photos all their friends will be talking about.
2. FLEXiBLE...
Not too long ago the idea of having a 'style' was probably not as big of a requirement for couples when choosing a photographer or videographer. 'Formal' was the only style there was. However with the modern influences mentioned above we have enjoyed being able to provide a range of styles for our couples and excel at all of them. What we don't want to do is bring only one way of doing things to your wedding day. We work with a lot of couples with a lot of different ideas and expectations.
Whether your desired style is...
1. Classy, elegant, formal / traditional
2. Exciting, fun, crazy / wild
3. Artistic, creative, breathtaking
4. Exquisite, sexy, magazine style
...we believe we are a good fit. No wedding is ever any one specific style but often an appropriate mix as desired by the couple and family.
3. CANDID / PHOTO JOURNALISTIC...
The simplest definition for candid style photo journalism is capturing beautiful moments as they occur naturally. The modern trend of photography has really opened up doors to photographers because more and more couples are demanding this style. With change in photography from film to digital, photographers are now free to fire off more live-moment type shots.
We like to take this a step further. It's great to capture candid moments but it's even better to capture candid moments with a creative approach - whether this means capturing candids in natural light, from non-traditional perspectives and angles, or utilizing wide or long lenses.
Though we have worked with a few brides who wanted 100% of coverage to be photo journalistic, we believe an appropraite mix of traditional and candid style often bring the best result. While our videography is almost exclusively candid and photo journalistic, we do suggest certain formal pictures still be a part of your final mix.
